Beltangady, Apr 20: The award increases the social responsibility of recipient. Meanwhile, a woman gets additional strength to carry forward her struggle, said Hemavati Heggade, chairperson of Jnana Vikas organization of Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala Rural Development Project (SKDRDP).
Hemavati was speaking after receiving the Kavaledurga Chennamma Rani Award that was conferred on her during the annual Jatra Utsav and fifteenth death anniversary of Siddalinga Swami at Keledurga mutt recently.
‘Life experiences are vital in shaping an individual. An individual gains from the timely advices of a teacher. If a woman strives in her chosen career wholeheartedly with religious belief, she would excel in life,’ said Hemavati Heggade.
Dr B S Vishwanath, an international veteran of co-operative movement after reciving the Keladi Veerashivappa Nayaka Award the concept of co-operative movement – an ideology Karnataka’s visionary religious leader Basavanna has given him an opportunity to represent India in Geneva, Switzerland. He is a native of Teerthahalli who has been enlightened because of co-operative movement, said Dr Vishwanath.
In his inaugural address, state MPM president Araga Jnanendra said that Kavaledurga mutt has emerged as pro-societal in the recent past, which attracts more people to divinity.
MLA Kimmane Ratnakar presided.
Swami Shiva Acharya of Konandoor mutt, Dr Siddalinga Swami of Kouledurga mutt delivered a religious discourse on the occasion.
