Bantwal: Major Traffic Snarl – Vehicles Get Stuck in Sticky Mud

Daijiworld Media Network – Bantwal (SP)

Bantwal, Apr 20: A major traffic block extending up to a few hours occurred at Neralakatte on Mani-Mysore state highway, where road extension work is going on, on Tuesday April 19. Because of ongoing works, the mud here has become loose, and Tuesday rain complicated the problem.

Wheels of a truck carrying wooden logs, and also a KSRTC Volvo bus running between Mangalore and Bangalore, got stuck in the mud, and the gap between these two vehicles happened to be very narrow. Therefore, the vehicles meant for Puttur had to take a detour through Uppinangady. Later, cranes were summoned to move the vehicles aside.

The road expansion works here had begun last year. Since then, the work is going on at a snail’s pace, resulting in various traffic blocks. Both sides of the road have been dug up, and the existing road is in a despicable state, making it a complicated affair for the people to negotiate their vehicles.
