Moodbidri, Apr 19: Annual Rathotsava was held with religious fervour at the historically famous Thousand Pillars Basadi, here on Monday April 18 night.

‘If the people in the society extend their mite of service, all religious worship centres will function efficiently,’ said Swami Bhattaraka Charukirti of Jain Mutt, here.

Swami Bhattaraka Charukirti was speaking during the stage programme held before the annual Rathotsava.

A religious lecture by professor Shubhachandra on Mahaveer Jayanti was also held on the occasion.

Moodbidri Beedina Chandayya Arasu Kinya Kambala inaugurated the programme.

SCDCC Bank chairman M N Rajendra Kumar presided over the programme.

Former minister Amaranath Shetty was the chief guest.

Shashvati and Prastuti, sisters from Mangalore staged Bharatanatyam show as part of entertainment programme.

Bahubali Prasad welcomed the gathering, while Jain mutt manager Sanjayant Kumar proposed the vote of thanks.
