Inflation not 'red lettered' priority: Sitharaman

New Delhi, Sep 7 (IANS): Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Wednesday said that inflation is not a "red lettered" priority as it has cooled down in the last few weeks.

Addressing the India Ideas Summit, she said that Central government's priority is job creation and income distribution.

Sitharaman further said that India is taking up the G20 presidentship in challenging times when global supply chains have been damaged and geo-political equations are volatile.

The Finance Minister said that the National Infrastructure and Investment Fund (NIIF) needs to be more robust.

Speaking on the Data Protection Bill, she said that the Centre is keen to bring it.

IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw had said on Tuesday that Central government will soon bring a completely new version of the bill.

Wow, what a great statement from alumni of JNU! Inflation is triggered by direct actions of this governments illogical policies of heavy taxing of fuels & not creating jobs too is its priority. More than 60 Lakhs jobs aren't filled in government departments since 3 years, which means they doesn't want to create real jobs but appoint contract workers with no security or retirement benefits which hints this govt. has become bankrupt financially due to heavy spending of money in those sectors which never produce any jobs & selling PSU s to "Hamare Do" will be a death knell for employment generation. Politicians ride over electors by increasing their salaries & perks & they never pay for any fuel or groceries too. Imposing GST on each & everything isn't raising inflation Madam? I wonder what her economic lecturer might be ruing at present?

Nirmala Thai seems to be colour blind and hence red colour appears black. In any case, she never buys any commodity as everything is provided free to her.
