Panaji, Apr 19: Thousands irrespective of caste, religion and nationality participated in the traditional 'Procession of Saints' at St Andrew's church in Goa Velha, around 10 kms from Panaji.



Idols of 32 saints belonging to the Franciscan order are taken around the village annually on the fifth Monday of Lent.

The procession is unique to the state and takes place only in Goa and in Rome.
