Kundapur, Apr 18: April 17 was a day decided to the support of patients with haemophilia. Haemophilia is an inherited bleeding disorder due to deficiency of clotting factors viii or ix. Haemophilia is treatable with infusion of the expensive factor viii concentrates.
As part of world haemophilia day celebrations sand sculpturing was done on the beaches of the turtle bay Maravanthe, by members of the Manipal Sand Heart, artists forum, Srinath Manipal and Ravi Hirebettu. The sculpting was done as part of Asha Kiran 2011, a camp for patients with haemophilia and their families organized by the Manipal Haemophilia Society, Kasturba Medical Hospital, Manipal University.
The theme of the sculpture was to support the haemophilia patients around the world, and call to all to help their brothers with Haemophilia.
