Kundapur, Apr 18: The local court has ordered for registration of criminal case against rickshaw driver from Kharvi Keri, Kashinath Naik, his mother, and brothers. This order was passed in connection with a private complaint filed by the victim in the court.

In the said complaint, the girl had accused Kashinath, his mother, Gauri Naik, and brothers, Nityanand Naik, Vighnesh Naik, and sister, Malati, of demanding dowry for accepting the lady as the family’s daughter-in-law. She had said that after making her believe that he would marry her, Kashinath had raped her. The local women’s police station, to which the complaint had been referred, had filed ‘B’ report in the court. The court, considering the objections to this report as filed by the lady, rejected the police report.

The government hospital’s medical officer had confirmed that the lady had been raped. The court has issued summons to the accused relating to further investigation into the case, it is gathered.
