Tumkur: Eight Die, Six Injured, in Two Accidents

Tumkur, Apr 18: In two separate accidents which occurred in the district on Sunday April 17, eight people lost their lives, while six persons were injured.

In an accident involving a Tata Ace vehicle and a truck near Seebi on national highway 4, Nagaraju (30), and Huligappa (45), both from Malagihatti in Shira taluk, Basavaraju (35) from Chikkadasarahalli, and Shashi (25) from Dodda Aladamara, all of whom were travelling in Tata Ace vehicle, died.

Reportedly, the Tata Ace driver was trying to overtake a truck, when his vehicle hit the truck in question. The injured are being treated in the district hospital.

After a car went out of control of its driver at Hatyalu Narasimhaswamy Hill in Tiptur taluk in the district and hurtled down a gorge, four persons died, while three others were injured.

Kamalamma (45) from Huliyar village here, Lata (35) from Shimoga, car driver, Narasimha Murthy (45), and Kavya (18) died in the accident. Those in the car had attended a marriage in Tumkur, and had decided to visit Hatyalu Narasimhaswamy Hilla before returning home.
