Mangalore: Gutka Ban - SC Accepts Petitions, Hearing on July 20

Mangalore, Apr 17: All the petitions with regard to the gutka ban will be heard by the Supreme Court on July 20.

The SC accepted the petitions filed by various organizations on Wednesday April 13 including one filed by the government favouring farmers. Special prosecutor K M Nataraj appeared on behalf of the government.

Justice G S Singhvi and Justice adhakrishnan said the report prepared by the centre on the injurious properties of the gutka should be distributed to all petitioners within two weeks and reply shold be sought within four weeks. Campco, Gujarat Tobacco Association, Mamcos among others had filed teh petitions.

    Oh so they could get rid of the poor PANI PURI wallas in Mumbai..and what about those who still sell GUTKA right in front on the cops nose. The cops probably could not get any hafta from them.
