Puttur, Apr 15: Dakshina Kannada MP, Nalin Kumar Kateel, said that the state Chief Minister (CM), B S Yeddyurappa, during his visit to the district on April 16, will put an end to all the confusions that have born out of the issuance of eviction notices against those who have encroached upon government lands. “The CM will announce the government’s stand on this issue in front of press persons, and will affectively douse the furore that has arisen over the above action,” he claimed.
Speaking to reporters here on Thursday April 14, Kateel said that the district in-charge ministers of coastal districts, MLAs and also himself, had spoken to the Chief Minister about the issue and convinced to him the need to change the government stance. “Our CM has already clarified that the government will not initiate legal steps against farmers who have occupied certain types of government lands, and who have already applied for regularization of the same. Dakshina Kannada deputy commissioner too has issued clear instructions to officials in this direction,” he added.
