Mangalore, Apr 14: Celebrated yoga guru, Baba Ramdev, will be organizing a free yoga camp at the Central Maidan in the city from 5 am to 7.30 am on Saturday April 16. He is scheduled to visit Moodbidri, Karkala and Manipal later that day.
Addressing a press conference here, organizer of the camp, Ajit Kumar Rai Malady, said that Baba Ramdev will demonstrate to the people the potential yoga has, of bringing wonderful transformation in their lives. He added that this will be an excellent opportunity for the people of the district to gain health benefits and be guided by the guru.
The programmes are being held under the aegis of Bharat Swabhiman and Patanjali Yoga Peetha’s Dakshina Kannada district unit. At the same venue, expert doctors, who will arrive from Haridwar, will conduct health check up camp from 8 am to 1 pm, Malady revealed. Baba Ramdev will deliver a message to activists at A B Shetty Hall in Bunts Hostel here from 11.30 am to 12.30 pm, he said.
Ramdev will arrive in Puttur at 4.30 pm on Friday, and from there, will move to the city at 7 pm. “He will be given a rousing reception at Pumpwell. Those who want to take part in the camp should be present at the venue before 4.30 am with mats, he said. Those coming to the camp can park vehicles at St Ann’s School, Rosario School, RTO ground, government college, deputy commissioner’s office compound, and railway station parking areas, he explained.
Dr Jnaneshwar Rao, M Jagadish Shetty Bejai, Jayashree Rai, and Rajashekhar Ballal were present.
The Baba will participate in a programme being held at Alva's Campus in Vidyagiri Moodbidri from 1.30 to 3 pm. There he will deliver discourse on importance of Bharat Swabhiman and Yoga. Bhattaraka Charukeerti Panditacharyavarya of the Jain Mutt will be present.
From there on, he will stay in Karkala for 15 minutes from 3 pm onwards before moving on to Manipal. On April 17, he will participate in the ‘Grameena Janasabha’ programme being held at Hebri Amruta Bharati stadium from 1 to 3 pm. On that day, health camp is being held in Udupi from 5 am to 7.30 pm. Buses have been arranged from 3.30 am from Karkala bus stand to Udupi.
