Kundapur, Aug 19: Operations head of Konkan Railway Santhosh Kumar Jha visited Moodlakatte railway station and held discussions with officials and members of the passengers’ welfare committee.
Some proposals were placed by the committee for the betterment of passengers. Jha responded positively and promised to resolve them.
One of the main demands was the re-introduction of Kundapur-Mysuru train which was stopped after the corona lockdown. The committee also opined that if a direct train runs from Karwar to Tirupati via Kundapur it would greatly benefit pilgrims of this district. Officials said that this requires the cooperation of other corporations also and they will take up the matter with concerned.
A complaint was also raised that there is no stoppage at Kundapur for passengers arriving on the Mumbai-Mangaluru Netravati Express, which puts passengers of this area to great inconvenience. Jha assured them that he will bring this to the notice of the Railway board.
