Byndoor, Aug 19: Residents of Hunsaemakki village under the limits of Golihole gram panchayat are deprived of basic facilities to lead a life.
Around 70 families live in Hunasemakki and the total population is 500. There are around 100 children of school going age. But none of them have joined even Anganwadi because there is no Anganwadi in the village. If the villagers have to go to the nearest Anganwadi, they have to walk two km crossing dangerous wooden foot bridges.
If the children have to go to school they need to walk five km. There is no drinking water facility also. During summer the situation of residents of this village is really difficult. There is no electricity in the village. People light lamps with kerosene. Now even kerosene is not available.
Roads literally do not exist in this village. People of this village have fought for decades for a road access to the village. But people representatives and administration is not bothered.
If anyone falls sick, the person has to be carried on shoulders or by covering them in some blanket. Pregnant women are left in the houses of relatives in town area as they cannot be taken immediately to hospital when they get labour pain.
The five km stretch between Tondle near Yalijit to Kashikoodlu is not even fit to walk on foot. Health officers and veterinary doctors never come to the village even if the villagers fall at their feet as there is no road at all.
Though the villagers are facing so many hardships to live a normal life, neither the people representatives nor the administration are bothered about their plight.
The villagers of Hunasemakki, who are distraught because of the apathy of the government have decided to boycott all future elections. They say that they will not allow any politician to enter their village.
