Mumbai: BSKBA celebrates India’s Independence Day

Mumbai, Aug 17: BSKB association celebrated India’s Independence Day at Saraswati auditorium, Gokula complex, Sion east. Dr Suresh S Rao, president of BSKB association and Gopalakrishna Public trust presided over the programme.

BSKB association vice president Vaman Holla, vice president Shailini Rao, Secretary Anant Padmanabha K Pothi, treasurer CA Haridas Bhat, Gopalakrishna Public trust trustee member B Ramananda Rao and BSKBA first citizen Vijayalaxmi Suresh Rao were on the dais.

 

BSKBA former president K Subbanna Rao and vice president assigned Avinash Shastri felicitated BSKBA main office bearers who struggled for the construction of Gokula, Vaman Holla, Ananta Padmanabha K Pothi, CA Haridas Bhat and Badanidiyoor Ramananda Rao of Gopalakrishna Public trust with the title of ‘Gokula Seva Bhooshana’. Dr Suresh Rao felicitated them with gold chain and medal. Other office bearers honoured Dr Suresh Rao with titles of Gokula Seva Bhushan and Gokula Roovari titles.

B Balachandra Rao presented the ‘Gokula Kalashree award to veteran artist Shailaja Madhudoodan along with Y Madhusoodan Rao and felicitated Rons Bantwal with ‘Madhyama Seva Dhurandara’ title.

Sahana Bharadhwaj sang the poem created by BSKBA ladies wing president I K Prema S Rao and congratulated the felicities. Nearly 75 members of both the organizations were honoured in the programme held in the afternoon.

Leaders of both the organizations hoisted the national flag in the morning and celebrated Independence Day. Homage was paid to national leaders, soldiers and martyrs who fought for the country.

Artists of Gokula Kalavrinda performed dances and fashion shows. Members and children sang songs and performed dances compered by Laxmi Udupa.

I K Prema S Rao welcomed and compered the programme. Kusum Srinivas, Chandrashekar Bhat, Smita Bhat and Prashanth Herle read the letters of felicitation. Ananta Padmanabha K Pothi rendered a vote of thanks. The programme concluded after the national anthem.
