Margao, April 12: Concerned about the increasing problem of garbage across the state, minister for PWD Churchill Alemao on Sunday April 10 stressed the need to tackle the problem. He urged the people to co-operate with the government in installing garbage treatment plants in their respective areas which will help overcome the problems facing hygiene and sanitation.
Alemao was speaking after inaugurating the New Market Complex at a function held in Nuvem.
Speaking further, Alemao congratulated the people of Nuvem village for their co-operation in installing the garbage treatment plant.
Power minster Alexo Sequeira said that the government intends to provide all facilities to people in rural areas. “This is essential for improving and upgrading the living standard of the people”, he added.
Joaquim Alemao, urban development minister, and Fr Alvano Martin also spoke on the occasion.
