Mumbai, Aug 15: Safalya Seva Sangha held their annual general body meeting at Ranjani Sudhaker Hegde auditorium of Bantara Sangha , Kurla east on August 14.
The meeting was presided over by its president Srinivas P Safalya. He said that the sangha with a history of more than eight decades has indulged in social work and has provided during the last two years 45 sewing machines to widows and poor women and trained them in tailoring. “The youth wing has planned free computer training for poor students near their residences. Rs 3,000 each are credited to the bank accounts of community members in distress during the Corona pandemic. Members are requested to attend the foundation day in the first week of August, sports competitions in November and 82nd annual meeting special programme along with family members,” he said.
Vice president Krishna Kumar Bangera was on the dais. Senior members Sadananda Putran, Vasu Putran, former president Om Prakash Rao, Jayarama Safaliga and Narayan Mendon expressed their opinions.
Examination toppers were distributed scholarships with amounts received from donors.
The meeting started after prayers. A silent prayer was held for the country's martyrs, members of the sangha who passed away during the previous year and well-wishers. Chief secretary Shobha Bangera informed the previous year’s report. Treasurer Hemanth Safaliga gave details of accounts during the previous year. The amendment to the by law of the sangha was approved in the meeting. Former secretary Bhasker Safaliga rendered a vote of thanks. The meeting concluded after the national anthem.
