Mumbai: Kannada has a history of two thousand years – minister Govinda Karajola

Mumbai, Aug 13: The fifteenth national Kannada cultural conference was held at Bengaluru’s Basava Bhavan auditorium by Bengaluru Basavanna Vedike, Hridayavahini Karnataka and Bengaluru city corporation officers and employees welfare association.

Karnataka minister of human resources Govinda Karajola who inaugurated the conference said that Kannada language has a history of two thousand years. “No other language in the world has as much respect as Kannada. Only Kannada has become the administrative language of the state among ancient languages,” he said.

Famous author Dr Ashok Narode Mahalingapura presided over the programme.

Samyukta PU college secretary Roopa M S, Bengaluru city corporation revenue officer G Siddalingappa, Ranganath, headmistress Vanita K, social worker Prabha N Suvarna, Sathyavati Chandrashekar Raju, Shilpa Kiran, Dr Samsad, film actress Brinda and Bhoomika were felicitated with Hradayavantaru 2022 award.

Former mayor of Bengaluru city corporation M Gautam Kumar, D Devaraj Urs truck terminal corporation president Dr S Veerayya, Basava Samithi president Arvind Jatthi, Kshemabhivradhi sangha chief secretary K G Ravi and Kannada Sangha president Sai Shanker were present.

Hridayavahini president K P Manjunath gave an introduction. Bengaluru city corporation officer and employees welfare association president Amrath Raj welcomed. Dhananjay and Muralikrishna N compered the programme and rendered a vote of thanks.
