Bantwal, Apr 9: The new copper-plated flag pole donated by Mumbai entrepreneur and Mulund Bunts president Nagriguttu Vivek Shetty to Mittamajalu Temple, Sajipamooda, near here, was ceremoniously installed at the temple on Friday April 8.
Temple chief priest K Suryanarayana led the religious rituals for the Brahmakalashotsav and other celebrations in the presence of Sajipamooda Gurikars Kantadiguttu Sheena Hegde (Devu Shetty) and Nagriguttu Vittal Shetty, as well as temple development chief B Sadanand Poonja.
AJ Shetty Hospital and Research Centre chairman A J Shetty presided over the programme.
Speaking on the occasion, A J Shetty said that religious celebrations contribute to societal development. He urged people to go to temples every weekend to pray and cleanse the mind and soul of evil and to be blessed by the Divine.
MP Nalin Kumar Kateel was the chief guest on the occasion who said that the homeland is dear to everyone and traditional Tulunadu worship brings the community brethren together.
Nagriguttu Vivek Shetty acknowledged the early upbringing of his parents that shaped him to be pro-active in societal progress.
Bunts Sangh – Mumbai president and World Bunts Association vice-president Aikala Harish Shetty, former minister and Coastal Development Authority chairman Nagaraj Shetty, veteran Tulu litterateur Yerya Laxminarayan Alva, former MP Vinay Kumar Sorake, and Bajpe Popular Education Trust chairman Maravoor Jagdish C Shetty were the guests of honour.
Nagriguttu Vittal Shetty and Chandravati Vittal Shetty, Nagriguttu Vivek Shetty and Sandhya Vivek Shetty were felicitated during the programme.
Nagriguttu Vivek Shetty honoured ‘Vaastu’ expert Prasad Muniyangal, sculptor Upendra Acharya, coppersmiths Lancy Mascarenhas and Hemanath Shetty Puttur on the same occasion.
