Mumbai, August 8: MP of north Mumbai, Gopal Shetty released to Mumbai market the Kedara Kaje rice grown in Udupi under ‘Hadilu Bhoomi Krishi’, agriculture in barren land movement by Kedarothana Trust.

The programme was held in the leadership of K Ragupathi Bhat, president of the trust at Bantara Bhavana, Kurla on August 7. Maharashtra Vidhan Parishat MLA Rajhams Singh was the chief guest.

Eyewitness to the movement, Rathnaker Hegde Mattaru gave details of the endeavour.

Bantara Sangha Mumbai president Chandrahas K Shetty, heads of various organizations, office bearers and members of Kedarothana trust, Tulu Kannadigara Abhimani Balaga convener Ermal Harish Shetty and other elite were present.

A documentary film on the services of Kedarothana farmers and their hard work was displayed. The message of BJP national chief secretary, former Karnataka minister, Chikmagalur MLA C T Ravi was announced. Chandrahas K Shetty was the first customer of the Kaje rice on Amazon under cash and carry delivery.

The programme began with a peasant song of Jaya Shetty Moodubelle. Shailaja Shetty sang a prayer. Ermal Shetty welcomed. MLA Raghupathi Bhat gave an introduction and honoured the guests. Ashok Pakkala introduced the guests and compered the programme. K Raghavendra Kini rendered a vote of thanks.

Artists of Kalajagathu Mumbai enacted ‘Corona’ Tulu drama directed by Dr. Thonse Vijayakumar Shetty. Meals of delicious Kaje rice grown in the barren land of Udupi were served.
