Mumbai, Aug 8: Kannadiga Patrakartara Sangha presided over by its president Rons Bantwal held a programme at Solitary Park auditorium, Andheri east on August 7 to pay homage to recently departed founder of Udayavani Kannada daily newspaper, Thonse Mohandas Pai.
Chief guest, founder of Jayashreekrishna Parisara Premi Samithi, Thonse Jayakrishna A Shetty, Patrakartara Sangha vice president Dr Shiva Moodigere, honorary chief secretary S Daya, Thonse Brahma Baidarkala Pancha Doomavati Garodi trust honorary secretary Sanjiva Poojary Thonse and others paid their homage to the departed soul.
Jayakrishna A Shetty distributed national flags to members as part of 75th anniversary of India’s independence. Rons Bantwal asked to hoist the flag in their offices and residences from August 13 to August 15 as per the government orders.
Jayakrishna Shetty recollected the dream of late Mohandas Pai fifty years ago to make Udayavani the number one newspaper. Rons Bantwal said that the contribution of Mohandas Pai to journalism is invaluable.
Patrakartara Sangha honorary treasurer Vishwanath Poojary Niddodi, joint secretary Savita S Shetty, joint treasurer Dr Durgappa Y Kotiavar, executive committee members Rangha S Poojary, Nagesh Poojary Elinje, Anita P Takode, Karunaker V Shetty, advisory committee members Gregory D’ Almeida and others were present.
