Udupi, Apr 8: A release from the office of the district deputy commissioner here said that prohibitory orders have been clamped up to a radius of 500 metres from the residence of minister V S Acharya here, from 7 am to 7 pm on Friday April 8.

It may be recalled that the Rajya Raita Sangha has made known its plans to organize a ‘Barukolu’ agitation in front of the minister’s residence today. This agitation is against the functioning of Udupi Power Corporation Ltd’s thermal power plant near Padubidri, which is creating problems for the locals there. T

he release explained that the said order was issued for maintaining law and order in the town.
