M'lore: Mangalorean Dr Sushil Jathanna Appointed CEO of NHS Cambridgeshire

Mangalore, Apr 7: Dr Sushil Jathanna (MBBS, MSC, MRCP, MFPHM, FFPHM, DGM, DMS) has been appointed to a very senior role in the NHS as CEO of NHS Camridgeshire and NHS Peterborough. He is the first Indian citizen to be appointed to such a senior role in the restructured NHS and certainly the first Mangalorean.

He is qualified as a medical doctor from KMC, Mangalore and earlier studied in St Aloysiius College. He left for UK immediately after qualifying as a doctor and got several degrees as part of his post graduation in the UK.

He has also served as the managing director of the healthcare division of a company called Care UK. He was also featured on BBC News when he was appointed.

He took up the post in February.
