Beltangady, Aug 5: Chaithra Adiga (25), wife of Deepak, a resident of Mundruppadi of Dharmasthala village, ended her life on Thursday August 4 at her home.
Chaithra got married in December 2018. She had worked as a teacher in a private school at Ujire for some years. She has one-and-a-half-year-old girl child. She had left the job and was at home.
Chaithra was very much involved in literature and cultural activities. She had completed her MA and wanted to do BEd. However, her husband’s family asked her to join MA next year. It is suspected, that Chaithra, who was distraught by the decision of her husband’s family to defer her BEd by a year, must have killed herself. This was mentioned by the mother of deceased Chaithra in the complaint filed with Dharmasthala police station.
