Mangaluru: Prohibitory orders to continue till Aug 8, pillion rider restriction withdrawn

Mangaluru, Aug 4: Police commissioner N Shashi Kumar has extended section 144 throughout Mangaluru police commissionerate till 6 am on August 8.

As a precautionary measure, barring essential services all other public activities, businesses and establishments will continue to remain closed from 6 PM to 6 AM shut till on August 8. The prohibitory orders are in place from July 29 evening.

Meanwhile, the earlier restrictions by the ADGP on youngsters (male) riding pillion from 6 pm to 6 am has been withdrawn considering public inconvenience. It was ordered earlier that only children, women and senior citizens are allowed to ride pillion.

Pillion rider restraint withdrawn in 3 hours 

However, following widespread opposition from public, ADGP Alok Kumar withdrew the order merely three hours after it was passed.

    The order only restricted pillion riding. One could sit on the tanky or if it were a scooter sit in the gap. Then would the rider become a pillion rider?

    After things cool down ,stop showing off on media about arrest of small thieves and 5 rupees drug peddlers .Instead strengthen your intelligence network where it is required ,especially religious terrorists and their mode of operation .Ask your men to abide by non corrupt practices.

    thank God.thr police wanted to tag Mangalore as terrorist state like Chandigarh and Kashmir it happened during Indira rule.what a releif the decision is reversed immediately.

    Prohibitory orders are fine. Anyway rain God has imposed her own prohibitory order and looks like she is on your side. However, it begs a question viz., when are you going to produce those 6 accused and Ajith Crasta in the court? We are totally sold out on your story viz., 6~7 targets identified, Fazil was the first and the fact that Ajith Crasta gave you inkling of the whole scheme of things. We want to know who is doing all these things. Do not worry about the Government in Bangalore. Governments change, but you and civil service in general provide semblance of permanence to governance. Nothing should stop you from coming out with the truth and make it stand in the court of law. That will help people to continue to trust our Government machinery. Neither the minority nor the majority should be taken for a ride especially when it is about life and death - simple. Same holds true for Praveen and Masood.

    How long you keeep this order. Childern of puc and 10th student get effected due to this . they can not go for tutions by evening . Plz stop and ask your police force work effectively

    When failure to contain criminals lockdown all the people inside seems to be the only solution our administration comes up with. Time to increase police presence and give sense of security to people should be solution and not hiding behind antipeople measures.
