Udupi, Aug 4: The first additional civil and JMFC court sentenced an accused who did not return the money to the lender and gave a cheque which got bounced in the bank, to three months in prison and also slapped a fine of Rs 10,000.
B Abdul Hameed Saheb, resident near Udupi fish market gave Rs three lac to Abdul Samad Khan, resident of Tenka Ermalu. Later, Abdul Samad gave a cheque for the amount to lender Abdul Hameed. However, the cheque got bounced in the bank.
Abdul Hameed filed complaint in court on July 19 about the cheque bounce matter. The court which conducted inquiry sentenced accused to three months in prison and fined Rs 10,000.
