Bengaluru, Jul 26: Civic problems need solutions and mere discussions will not help, Higher Education Minister Dr C N Ashwath Narayan said in Bengaluru on Tuesday.

Participating in a programme organised by Indian Human Settlement Association, he said urban areas should become mere job providers but also be places for better living.

It is necessary to develop social consciousness and sense of community development among all individuals, he said.

The minister said the Tumkur University will be conferring the honorary doctorate to Sri Yadugiri Yatiraj Mutt Swamiji on July 30 at a function in the Chowdaiah Memorial Hall.
