Panaji, Mar 31 (IANS): The Goa government has asked the union home ministry to blacklist two Yemen nationals who were illegally running a business in the state under the garb of being students, state Home Minister Ravi Naik said Thursday.

Naik said the two Yemenis were running an English language training centre at which several students from Arab countries were enrolled.

"Two Yemen nationals who were on student visa were found to be carrying a business along with an Indian national as a partner in the firm 'The Noble English Centre' at Panaji," Naik informed the Goa assembly in a written reply.

The reply also stated that both the Yemeni nationals were registered with the Hyderabad foreigner registration office (FRO).

"The ministry of home affairs New Delhi was requested to call for a report from the FRO Hyderabad and blacklist the two Yemeni nationals," Naik said.

Goa hosts hundreds of students from Arab countries, many of whom are enrolled in educational institutions, which impart English language speaking courses.

Following repeated terror alerts in Goa, police had stepped up vigil on such institutes.
