Mangaluru/Udupi, Jul 21: Dakshina Kannada on Thursday July 21, reported nine new coronavirus cases while 15 cases were registered in Udupi.

The total number of positive cases in the Dakshina Kannada district has risen to 1,36,073 out of which 63 are currently active. As many as 16 patients were discharged on July 21.

Zero deaths were reported on July 21. The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,852.

The district administration has urged people to strictly continue maintaining social distance in public places and wear masks when stepping out of the house. Anyone not wearing a mask would be fined by the authorities.

Positivity rate for the day stood at 1.06 percent.

So far, the district administration has collected Rs 1,16,05,880 as fine in 96,212 incidents of mask violation.

Udupi

14 coronavirus cases were reported on July 21. The total active Covid cases are 32.

A total of 10,89,397 people have received the first dose of vaccination and 10,80,025 have received both doses and 1,47,823 people have received booster doses.

Udupi reported nine cases, Karkala one and Kundapur four cases.
