Mangaluru/Udupi, Jul 19: Dakshina Kannada on Tuesday July 19, reported 8 new coronavirus cases while one case was registered in Udupi.

The total number of positive cases in the Dakshina Kannada district has risen to 1,36,056 out of which 67 are currently active. As many as nine patients were discharged on July 18.

No deaths were reported on July 19. The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,852.

The district administration has urged people to strictly continue maintaining social distance in public places and wear masks when stepping out of the house. Anyone not wearing a mask would be fined by the authorities.

Positivity rate for the day stood at 1.26 percent.

So far, the district administration has collected Rs 1,16,05,880 as fine in 96,212 incidents of mask violation.

Udupi

One coronavirus case was reported on July 19. The total active Covid cases are 25.

A total of 10,89,294 people have received the first dose of vaccination and 10,79,791 have received both doses and 1,36,771 people have received booster doses.
