Mangaluru/Udupi, Jul 18: Dakshina Kannada on Monday July 18, reported 15 new coronavirus cases while zero cases were registered in Udupi.

The total number of positive cases in the Dakshina Kannada district has risen to 1,36,048 out of which 68 are currently active. As many as nine patients were discharged on July 18.

Zero deaths were reported on July 18. The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,852.

The district administration has urged people to strictly continue maintaining social distance in public places and wear masks when stepping out of the house. Anyone not wearing a mask would be fined by the authorities.

Positivity rate for the day stood at 2.35 percent.

So far, the district administration has collected Rs 1,16,05,880 as fine in 96,212 incidents of mask violation.

Udupi

Zero coronavirus cases were reported on July 18. The total active Covid cases are 27.

A total of 10,89,218 people have received the first dose of vaccination and 10,79,723 have received both doses and 1,32,309 people have received booster doses.

Udupi, Karkala and Kundapur taluks reported zero cases.
