Mangaluru: No water supply to some parts of city on July 17

Mangaluru, Jul 16: Due to a repair work on 900 mm diameter pipeline at Kulur and Kottara Chowki, water supply will be affected in some parts of the city from 6 AM of July 17 to 6 AM of July 18.

The water supply will be totally cut off in the localities of Kana, Bala, Kulai, Mukka, Panambur and partially at Surathkal, Katipalla, Kulur, Jalligudde and Kodical as per the publication by Mangaluru City Corporation.

    Yes I remember in childhood days.We had to bring drinking water from far .Thatswhy to wash pots etc used to collect rain water .Only drinking water was from well .Now open the tape and see whats coming either noice or dirty water .

    Just like the famous line, 'water, water everywhere and not a drop to drink', in Samuel Taylor Coleridge's poem, 'The Rime of the Ancient Mariner', water is flooding all around us. But unfortunately it not clean or safe enough to drink. Clean potable water can be collected from the falling rain by hanging a clean sheet tied to 4 poles at four corners and pla ing a bucket under it right at the centre. Would be safer to boil this water before using it for drinking purposes.
