Mangaluru/Udupi, Jul 13: Dakshina Kannada on Wednesday July 13, reported 9 new coronavirus cases while 7 cases were registered in Udupi.

The total number of positive cases in the Dakshina Kannada district has risen to 1,35,982 out of which 55 are currently active. As many as 18 patients were discharged on July 13.

No deaths were reported on July 13. The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,852.

The district administration has urged people to strictly continue maintaining social distance in public places and wear masks when stepping out of the house. Anyone not wearing a mask would be fined by the authority.

Positivity rate for the day stood at 0.91 percent.

So far, the district administration has collected Rs 1,16,05,880 as fine in 96,212 incidents of mask violation.

Udupi

Seven coronavirus cases were reported on July 13. The total active Covid cases are 24.

A total of 10,88,961 people have received the first dose of vaccination and 10,79,018 have received both doses and 1,19,113 people have received booster dose.

Udupi taluk reported five cases while Karkala added 2 cases. All seven cases reported on July 13 are symptomatic.
