Mumbai, Jul 13: Mayura Varma Prathistana held a programme of interaction at Shanishwara mandira, Nerul on Sunday evening, July 10. Ashok Pakkala, honorary editor of Bantaravani monthly magazine was the resource person.
The programme was presided over by Ramesh M Poojary, trustee of Shanishwara Mandira. T R Madhusoodhan, president of Kannada Kalakendra, Lakshmisha Gabladka Sullia and Dr Jyothi Sathish, editor of Nesara monthly magazine of Mysore association who were the guests of honour inaugurated the programme.
Ashok Pakkala said that our differences between borders prevented us from uniting even after so many years of independence.
Laksmisha Gabbladka said that careless farmers are dangerous. “Use of chemical fertilizer was encouraged in 1960 when there was scarcity of food pulses. But its use has made our food poisonous,” he said. T R Madhusoodan said that nurturing cultural organizations is our responsibility.
Supriya Anil Hegde sang a prayer. Tara Bangera welcomed. Secretary of the Prathistana, Vishwanath Dodmane gave an introduction about the Prathistana and the interaction. Vice president of the Prathistana Sindhoora Rajesh Gowda honoured the guests. Adyapadi Balakrishna Shetty compered the programme and rendered a vote of thanks.
Anagha Dodmane, Sudhugha Dodmane, Prathwish, Sanatana and Aditya sang patriotic songs. Disha Prabhu, Sanatana and Sooraj Damannar gave speeches. Shravya Shetty, Bhavith Kotian and Bhoomika Gowda performed Janapada dances. Shantalaxmi Udupa performed a skit titled Angulimala. The programme concluded after the national anthem.
