Bengaluru, Jul 11: The much-awaited results of the Federation of Konkan Catholic Association (FKCA) Global Bible quiz are out. The chairman of the federation, Silvian Noronha on Sunday July 10, announced the winners of the quiz which was conducted online in two languages.
Jaelyne Iona Tauro from Dubai won first place with maximum correct answers coveting the Rs 1,00,000 prize money. The quiz, conducted on July 3 also had second place bagged by Blossom Nerry Fernandes from Mumbai who won a cash prize of Rs 50,000, and Pearl Anita Purushotham from Bengaluru who won third place and took home a reward of Rs 25,000.
As many as 25 winners bagged the consolation prizes which was Rs 1,000 cash prize each.
“The FKCA congratulates the winners on their awards and conveys our best wishes to all the participants. We are extremely grateful for the wide participation from across the country and overseas who have registered for the quiz. We trust that you enjoyed taking the quiz and testing your knowledge as much as we enjoyed conducting the quiz,” said Silvian in his press statement.
FKCA which was founded in 1998 in Bengaluru has grown into a giant organization with global reach. As many as 33 associations of Konkani Catholics in different parts of Bengaluru, Mysuru, Chikkamagaluru, Hassan, Shivamogga, and 11 associations in other countries, including USA, UK, Canada, Kuwait, Qatar and Dubai, and Abu Dhabi in UAE are affiliated to FKCA.
The federation works for the cause of Konkan Catholics and also in the larger interests of the community globally. FKCA today has made a strong presence by putting forth and taking up grievances of Konkani Catholic community with several governments and a united forum in fighting for their rights.
