Kasargod, Jul 10: The Bekal police arrested a Chitradurga native couple, who were working with Bekal Resort on the accusation of stealing Rs 6 lac from there.
Pradeep (25) and his wife Nivedita (24) are the accused who are in police custody. They had allegedly stolen cash from Bekal Home Stay resort on Kafil beach road.
The cash which was kept in the cupboard of the resort went missing a few days ago. Owner Pradeep had complained to the police and suspected his staff behind the act. Further, the couple had also absconded from the resort.
Bekal station SI M Rajaneesh and ASI Rajan conducted the investigation and arrested the duo from Chitradurga by locating their mobile.
The couple had purchased new bike worth Rs 2.10 lac and two new mobile phones from the stolen cash. The police confiscated the new bike, which is kept in Chitradurga police station.
Further interrogation of the couple is in progress.
