Mangaluru/Udupi, Jul 7: Dakshina Kannada on Thursday July 7, reported 15 new coronavirus cases while Udupi registered four cases.
The total number of positive cases in the Dakshina Kannada district has risen to 1,39,914 out of which 78 are currently active. As many as 17 patients were discharged on July 7.
No deaths were reported on July 7. The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,852.
The district administration has urged people to strictly continue maintaining social distance in public places and wear masks when stepping out of the house. Anyone not wearing a mask would be fined by the authority.
Positivity rate for the day stood at 1.90 percent.
So far, the district administration has collected Rs 1,16,05,880 as fine in 96,212 incidents of mask violation.
Udupi
Four coronavirus cases were reported on July 7. The total active Covid cases are 53.
A total of 10,88,810 people have received the first dose of vaccination and 10,78,342 have received both doses and 1,08,924 people have received booster dose.
Two patients were discharged on July 7.
