Byndoor, Jul 7: Kundapur and Byndoor received more than 200 mm rain and sea shore areas of Navundra, Maravanthe, Nada, Amparu, Siddapur and Gangolli have been affected badly. MP Raghavendra visited these areas and did the spot inspection.
Raghavendra said, “If retaining wall is built with rocks, the issue of sea erosion will not be resolved. So action will be taken to offer a permanent solution. Discussions will be held in this regard in the parliament session. The union minister will be met along with local MLAs and an appeal made for compensation."
“If funds are misused in any work suitable investigation needs to be done. Already Rs 84 crore has been released for the development of Maravanthe. Work will begin soon," he added.
“No one is above nature. Technology needs to be used to prevent sea erosion. A permanent solution will be found for the problems faced by people of Byndoor area during monsoon. “
Byndoor MLA Sukumar Shetty, DC Koorma Rao, CEO Prasanna, Mandala president Deepak Kumar Shetty and officials of various departments were present.
