Madrid, Jul 7 (IANS): Real Madrid defender Victor Chust has ended a ten-year relationship with the club by signing a four-year contract with Cadiz, the La Liga club confirmed on Wednesday.
The 22-year-old spent last season on loan with Cadiz and played an important part in their recovery under coach Sergio Gonzalez in the second half of the campaign as they narrowly avoided relegation.
Cadiz have paid around one million euros to make the move permanent, although Real Madrid had reserved a percentage of the profit from any possible future sale.
The Valencia-born central defender joined Real Madrid as a 12-year-old and progressed through the ranks, making two appearances in La Liga and one in the Copa del Rey for the first team in the 2020-21 season.
Meanwhile, some reports claim that Madrid winger Marco Asensio is ready to take a wage cut amid rumours that the Spanish international is likely to depart the club.
According to the Daily Mail, Asensio is willing to take a pay cut if it means he can leave the La Liga champions to venture elsewhere with his weekly salary at Madrid rumoured to be around £120k.
Several top European clubs have shown interest in the winger including Liverpool, Arsenal and AC Milan who have all been heavily linked with the player in recent weeks, the report said.
