Bengaluru, Jul 4: JD(S) Deputy Leader in the Assembly Bandeppa Kashempur advocated creating environmental awareness and concern for maintaining forests among the young starting with students.
Participating in the afforestation programme organised by the Forest and Rural Development ministry at Goranalli village government higher primary school premises in Bidar South assembly constituency on Monday, Kashempur appreciated the initiative of launching the programme in schools and stressed the need for maintaining forests, planting trees and keeping the environment clean.
Organising such functions in schools helps in creating awareness about the environment among the young, he said.
Kashempur also wanted the school teachers to take more interest to ensure that all students attend school and help the children to improve their studies. He participated in the KDP review meeting at the Bidar taluk panchayat office and underscored the need to take urgent steps to solve the problems of farmers, provide good roads and necessary infrastructure facilities to help the farmers.
