Mangaluru/Udupi, Jul 3: Dakshina Kannada on Sunday July 3, reported 12 new coronavirus cases while Udupi registered eight cases.
The total number of positive cases in the Dakshina Kannada district has risen to 1,35,849 out of which 61 are currently active. 12 patients were discharged on July 3.
No deaths were reported on July 3. The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,852.
The district administration has urged people to strictly continue maintaining social distance in public places and wear masks when stepping out of the house. Anyone not wearing a mask would be fined by the authority. Positivity rate is at 1.85 percent.
So far, the district administration has collected Rs 1,16,05,880 as fine in 96,212 incidents of mask violation.
Udupi
As many as eight coronavirus cases were reported on July 3. The total active Covid cases are 26.
A total of 10,88,668 people have received the first dose of vaccination and 10,77,751 have received both doses and 1,02,528 people have received booster dose.
Udupi taluk reported six cases, Kundapura two and no cases were reported from Karkala.
