Udupi, July 3: Udupi town police have arrested two persons in connection with a robbery case that happened in Ambagilu of town police station limits. Santhosh Poojary (36) and Rakesh (37) are the arrested persons.
As per the complaint filed by Prameela Bangera, a resident of Ambagilu Kakkunje, Santhosh and Rakesh had stolen valuables worth around Rs 3,15,000 from Prameela Bangera’s house during the period Jan 21, 2022 to Feb 20, 2022.
The valuables that were stolen include two gold chains, two bangles, three rings, one pair of ear jewelry, and a bracelet. Prameela Bangera in her complaint suspected Santhosh to be involved in the crime.
Udupi Police Sub inspector Prasad Kumar along with officers Sathish and Kiran arrested Santhosh from Sri Krishna mutt premise and Rakesh from near Ujwal bar. Jewellery amounting around Rs 2,18,169 was confiscated from the duo. They have been sentenced to 15 days judicial custody.
The arrest was made under the guidance of Udupi SP N Vishnuvardhan, Siddalingappa Additional Superintendent of Police, Sudhakar Sadananda Naik, DySP Udupi, Police Inspector Pramodh Kumar, Mahesh T M, Prasad Kumar K P, Vasappa Naik, and staff members ASI Arun, Satish Belle, Kiran were involved in the team.
