Kundapur, Jul 1: Local villagers have urged the administration to immediately repair the connecting road from Kodladi to Koodige under Ajri gram panchayat limits as it is not fit for travel. They threatened to boycott the next assembly elections if the road is not developed.
The three km stretch of road that connects Koodige is so bad that one cannot even walk on it. There are around 60 houses in the area. Most of the families are dependent on agriculture. They are unable to take fertilizer and machinery for agricultural work. Auto rickshaw drivers are also not willing to come to their village.
From Kodladi, asphalt road is there till half a km. however, as it is rural area, the road is not repaired and there is no drain also. School and anganwadi operate in the area. Around 40 students attend school here. Auto rickshaws and cooking gas vehicles arrive only till the school. The villagers have to carry ration and gas cylinders on their head or shoulders.
During monsoon, the water gets stagnated on the road. So it is difficult to even walk on it. The plight of pregnant women, sick and elderly people is even worse. Agricultural activities are stopped as there is no road.
An appeal is sent to MP, MLA and gram panchayat to repair the road. If it is not done, the villagers have threatened to boycott next assembly elections.
