Konkani Charismatic Retreat Begins at Our Lady of Good Counsel

Mumbai, Mar 18: A three-day Konkani charismatic retreat under the aegis of Charismatic Mission began at Our Lady of Good Counsel parish, Sion (East), on Thursday March 17.

Capuchin priest Fr Devdas Dolphy Serrao led preachers Br Franklyn D’Souza and Br Santhosh Saldanha of Divine Peace Retreat team from Mangalore, who will conduct the charismatic retreat at Sion (East) parish.



Sion (East) parish priest Fr Leslie D’Cunha delivered the introductory address.

Fr Serrao called on the faithful to live life for the glory of the Creator who has blessed everyone abundantly.

Harry R Sequeira, Alwyn D’Souza, John Serrao, and others organized the charismatic retreat.  “It will again be held at Our Lady of Fatima, Kirol, Vidhyavihar (West), on Sunday March 20 and Our Lady of Lourdes parish, Orlem, Malad (West), on Monday March 21,” said organizer Sequeira.

    Thr retreat which was preached by Fr.Dolphy, at Our Lady of Good Cousel, Sion, was very enreaching and filled with spiritual nurishment. i thank almighty God for sending a messenger to speak for his glory. He has prepared us to live thes lenten period with message of repentance and returning with contrite heart to God.God bless him and his team.

    The Retreat was very inspiring, the Preacher made known 2 categories of People. Helping and non-helping.We need to be helping people, there are various needs such as phyisical needs (medicines), material needs (food, house, education), emotional needs(freindship and motivation)spiritual needs.Our prayer,fasting and alms giving must help us to meet the needs of the downtrodden people during the lent. This message was apt for the ocassion.

    The lenten retreat preached by Fr. devdas dolphy was apt for the occasion. The Main Preaching given by Fr. was that "THERE IS NO FEAR WHEN YOU ARE IN THE LORD'S PRESENCES " .
