Bengaluru, Jun 27: Former Chief Minister and senior BJP leader SM Krishna, Infosys Co-founder NR Narayana Murthy and veteran Badminton player Prakash Padukone were conferred the newly instituted Kempegowda International Awards by Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai in Bengaluru on Monday.
Nadaprabhu Kempegowda Heritage Development Authority and Kannada and Culture Department had jointly organized the 513th Kempegowda Jayanti and the awards presentation function.
Infosys Foundation Chairperson Sudha Narayanamurthy and Vipul Kumar received the awards on behalf of Narayanamurthy and Prakash Padukone.
Adichunchanagiri Mutt pontiff Dr Nirmalanda Swamy, Nanjavadhoota Swamy, Ministers Dr CN Ashwath Narayan, R Ashok, K Gopalaiah and V Sunil Kumar, Bengaluru South MP Tejasvi Surya, MLA Munirathna and others were among the participants.
Speaking to media persons after the presentation of the awards, the Chief Minister said he will be leaving for Chandigarh to participate in the changes in GST structure.
