Udupi: Missing man found dead by family after 25 yrs

Udupi, June 22: The body of a man who had left home 25 years ago and had then gone missing was found and his mortal remains were cremated by his family members in Beedinagudde with the help of the Jilla Nagarika Samithi on Monday, June 20.

On May 1, an old man was found in a critical condition at the old Udupi government bus station by social workers Nityananda Olakadu and Taranath Mesta Shirooru who admitted him to the Ajjarakadu district hospital. The old man had identified himself as Babu Marakala of Barkoor at the time of admission.

After a few days, the old man died failing to respond to the treatment. His mortal remains were protected and kept at a mortuary.
