Mumbai, Mar 14: The golden jubilee wedding anniversaries of couples are getting rarer in recent times. The marriages sustain to celebrate the golden jubilee celebrations only by mutual love and respect.
Salian couple is indeed celebrating their golden jubilee wedding anniversary that was made possible by their mutual understanding despite their struggling times of poverty. The blessings of parents also boon for the longevity of couples, said former union minister B Janardhan Poojary.
Janardhan Poojary was speaking at the golden jubilee wedding celebration of Narsappa C Salian, hotelier and philanthropist and his wife Pushpalatha N Salian, director of metro-based Bharat Co-operative Bank, during the function held at Billava Bhavan, Santacruz (East) here on Saturday March 12. The programme was organized by Billavara Association.
Janardhan Poojary felicitated Narsappa C Salian and Pushpalatha N Salian couple and conveyed best wishes.
Billavara Association president and All India Billava Federation president Jaya C Suvarna, Bharat Co-operative Bank chairman Vasudev R Kotian, veteran hotelier Subbayya Shetty, Y Nagesh, Ujwala Susheel Kumar Shinde, Gangadhar S Amin Nasik, Leelavathi J Suvarna and C T Salian among others were the guests of honour.
Bharat Co-operative Bank director Bhaskar K Amin in his felicitation address said that Pushpalatha Salian has been the longest-serving director in the board of the bank. Narsappa and Pushpalatha couple have great concern for the economically-weaker in the community.
A documentary on the life of Salian couple was screened too.
Billavara Association honorary chief secretary Jyothi k Suvarna lauded the virtues of Salian couple.
The bank vice-president Nityanand D Kotian compered the programme.
