Mangaluru/Udupi, Jun 18: Dakshina Kannada on Saturday, Jun 18, reported seven new coronavirus cases while Udupi registered six cases.
The total number of positive cases in the district has risen to 1,35,696 out of which 35 are currently active.
The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,851.
The district administration has urged people to strictly continue maintaining social distance in public places and wear masks when stepping out of the house. Anyone not wearing a mask would be fined by the authority.
So far, the district administration has collected Rs 1,16,05,880 as fine in 96,212 incidents of mask violation.
Udupi
Six corona cases were reported on Jun 18, the total active Covid cases are 14. One patient was discharged from hospital on Saturday.
Udupi taluk reported 4 cases while Kundapur added 2 cases. 5 cases were symptomatic and 2 cases were asymptomatic.
One patient is admitted in designated Covid hospital while 5 are in home isolation.
A total of 10,87,264 people have received first dose of vaccination and 10,73,373 have received both doses and 83,110 people have received booster dose.
A total of 53 cases of mucormycosis (black fungus) have been reported in the district so far.
