Mumbai, Mar 12: The Youth Wing of the Christian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) organized a seminar on ‘Wealth Management in Progressive Business Development’ on Friday March 11. The resource persons were VIJAY EMMANUEL director, Investments-Global Wealth & Investment Management DSP Merrill Lynch Limited, and Kaizad Gandhi, associate financial advisor DSP Merrill Lynch Limited. The event was well attended by a large number of members of the chamber.
The speakers shared the expertise which Merill Lynch holds in areas of wealth management, in India as well as global front. Vijay Emmanuel and Kaizad Gandhi touched upon various areas in wealth management in their addresses on different spectrums of investment by individuals and corporates, the benefits of investing in gold, equity, mutual funds and bond markets. They elaborated upon the need for exercising caution at every step in the process of investment.
Kaizad Gandhi spoke in greater depths on better options of investment in gold and the upcoming avenue of investment in gold mining companies, to be considered before investing.
Vijay Emmanuel further elaborated the benefits of family wealth which could hold the key to safe keeping of family wealth and shared the expertise that Merrill Lynch holds in professional management of trust funds. A panel discussion involving speakers and CCCI, represented by Stelson Quadros, executive director, Express Pesticides Pvt Ltd, John D’silva, vice chairman CCCI, touched upon areas where Merill lynch could involve itself in helping growing firms to develop more competence and growth.
Also issues concerning key better return-oriented merging investments were discussed where investments in food, grains, sugar, corn were deliberated upon. ‘Water’, a key natural resource as we all know, was deliberated as a best investment, keeping the future in mind, investing in the same will be possible through offshore investment channels.
Henry Lobo (chairman of CCCI) delivered the welcome address, and honoured the speakers. John D’Silva, vice chairman, was present at the dais. K Swamy, executive eecretary, compered the programme. Lara Menezes introduced the speakers and youth wing chairman, Dr Richard Pereira, proposed vote of thanks.
