Dubai Energy Council, CNBC Sign Pact


Dubai, March 11 (IANS/WAM) The Dubai Supreme Council of Energy Thursday announced their strategic partnership with international business and financial news channel CNBC and CNBC Arabiya as the platinum media sponsor for the Dubai Global Energy Forum 2011.

The announcement was made during a signing ceremony held at the Supreme Energy Council's stand at the Water Energy Technology and Environment Exhibition (WETEX) conference in Dubai.

Dubai Global Energy Forum's objective is to provide a platform for energy leaders and experts to exchange views on emerging regional and global issues related to energy policies, programs, technologies and investment opportunities

The event will take place this April under the patronage of UAE's Vice President and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

The agreement was signed by Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, vice-vhairman of the Supreme Council of Energy on behalf of the council, and Mohammed Burhan, general manager and acting chief executive officer of CNBC Arabiya on behalf of the channel.

Under this partnership, CNBC will be in a position to provide regular and up to date news from the heart of the Dubai Global Energy Forum to provide their viewers across the globe extensive coverage of the event.
