Bantwal, Jun 6: All preparations are underway for the inauguration of huge donkey farming and model training centre, first-of-its-kind in Karnataka and second only in the country, at Ira in the taluk on June 8.
This centre will have comprehensive agriculture and animal husbandry, veterinary services, training and fodder development through Isiri farms. The centre will run under the ownerships of Srinivas Gowda, software engineer of Ramanagara origin.
Donkey milk is very nutritious and highly expensive. It has got huge demand among health conscious people.
Srinivasa Gowda, owner of the farm said, “The centre has 20 donkeys to start with. The state animal husbandry minister had to inaugurate the farm. But he is held up in Rajya Sabha elections and will visit the center on June 15. The inauguration will take place in the presence of MLA and deputy leader of opposition of legislative assembly U T Khader on June 8.”
